Trip Summary
Day 1 â 6 January
Arrival in Dakar. Airport pickup and hotel check-in at the Pullman Dakar Teranga, a luxurious 5 star sea-facing property. Depending on your arrival time, settle into your Superior Sea View Room and enjoy panoramic ocean viewsâa perfect start to your Senegal adventure.
Day 2 â 7 January
Morning ferry to GorĂ©e Island, visiting the House of Slaves, the âDoor of No Return,â and historic landmarks. Return to Dakar for lunch at the Lagoon restaurant, followed by a city tour including Independence Square, Kermel Market, the Renaissance Monument, and the Dakar train station. Overnight in Dakar.
Day 3 â 8 January
Morning departure to the Pink Lake, exploring by quad bike or vehicle across dunes, followed by a boat ride to meet the traditional salt gatherers. After lunch, drive 4 hours to Saint-Louis. Overnight at HÎtel de la Résidence.
Day 4 â 9 January
Early morning excursion to Djoudj Bird Sanctuary, a UNESCO site rich with pelicans, flamingos, and rare species. Return to Saint-Louis for lunch and a horse-drawn carriage ride through the colonial streets and riverside. In the late afternoon, continue to the Lompoul Desert for a magical evening: camel ride at sunset, dinner under the stars, and overnight at the RĂȘve du Nomade Desert Camp, with tented suites, local music, and the vast silence of the dunes.
Day 5 â 10 January
Journey to the holy city of Touba, home to West Africaâs largest mosque, before continuing to Saly, a relaxing coastal town. Overnight at Royam Saly or Palm Beach Resort.
Day 6 â 11 January
Excursion to the Saloum Delta National Park. Boat through lush mangroves, enjoy lunch in nature, and visit Mar Loth village before returning to Saly. Overnight in Saly.
Day 7 â 12 January
Visit Joal Fadiouth, Senegalâs famous shell island, and see the countryâs largest baobab tree. Overnight in Saly.
Day 8 â 13 January
Morning safari at Bandia Wildlife Reserve, spotting giraffes, antelopes, and other animals. After the visit, return to Dakar for the final night.
Day 9 â 14 January
Airport transfer for departure.
